Coming this month, the fresh, new radio sound that will sweep into offices across Anniston and Oxford. Finally, a station that’s “just right” for the workplace with “Soft Rock Variety” that everyone can agree on. Say hello to the new Sunny 104.3, WSYA!
Sunny 104.3 is the perfect blend of soft rock from today's biggest adult artists like Elton John, Celine Dion, Billy Joel and Mariah Carey carefully blended with only the greatest songs of the 60's, 70's and 80's from core artists such as The Beatles, Motown, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Lionel Richie, The Eagles, Bee Gees, Michael Jackson and Madonna. And because "Variety" is who we are, you'll hear plenty of songs without all the repetition you get from other contemporary stations in the area. Every song you hear on Sunny 104.3 is carefully "flow matched" to insure the station's musical "texture and tempo" create a stress-free sound that's perfect for long listening periods.
The station is crafted for adult female listeners. Song selection, personalities, contests, promotions and themed-events will all stand the test of matching the target audience specifically.
THE SUNNY SIGNAL - WSYA debuts this May with an FM signal on 104.3 that will cover primarily the business areas of Anniston and Oxford, but will quickly grow to extend across the metro area and Calhoun County. The station can also be heard on AM 1490, a signal that covers all of Calhoun County now. Additionally, Sunny 104.3 will be web cast live 24/7 in full CD Quality stereo over the Internet at www.wsyasunny.com or www.wtdrthunder.com.
THE PERSONALITY LINE-UP - Every Sunny 104.3 weekday begins early at 5 AM with Bob & Sheri-the Gold Standard for connecting with adult women every morning. This dynamic pair have pioneered a style that entertains women with a blend of personal experience, pop culture and listener interaction. It's a package that we expect quick success here in the Anniston-Oxford area.
Following Bob & Sheri at 9 AM, it's the Sunny 104.3 "104 Minute Workday Kickoff". Brandy White hosts the first two hours of the workday from 9-11 AM with lots of great music with very limited interruptions to set the tone in the office.
Jim Jacobs takes over at 11 AM and carry listeners through the "Sold Gold Lunch" where Jim will play nothing but great oldies from the 60's and 70's, many by phone in requests and online e-quest collected from offices listening throughout the area.
The 1-3 PM timeslot will be hosted by Grady Sapp with more great Sunny 104.3 "Soft Rock Variety" for mid-afternoon.
Afternoon Drive will be handled by Dave Mac, a long time radio pro with a solid track record of ratings success in Anniston-Oxford, as well as Bimringham. At 5 PM, Dave will sound the "Time To Go Home Gong" and crank it up a notch to get listeners on their way with "Car Tunes", all medium and up-tempo songs to make the drive home more fun. We should mention that all our daytime personalities will be LIVE in our studios in Oxford. No Voice Tracking Here!!
At 7 PM, it's time to unwind, and that means evenings with Deliliah! Each night, Delilah shares listener requests, dedications and stories over the airwaves and she always picks out the perfect song. Delilah will air from 7 PM to Midnight Sunday-Friday. Her distinctive blend of story telling, sympathetic listening and encouragement, all scored with soft rock and oldies makes her number one among women across America!
NEWS, WEATHER & TRAFFIC - Our news team of Mike Mote and Jon Pace will provide local headlines hourly during AM Drive with Bob & Sheri plus bulletins when needed. Daily weather will come from the area's most trusted meteorologist, James Spann, plus we'll provide "On-Time Traffic" updates in AM and PM Drive.
WEEKENDS ON 104.3 - Once the work week is over, it's time to party, and nothing gets people into the right mood for fun than the great music they grew up with.
Saturday mornings start it off with Casey Kasem's American Top 40 "The 70's", original AT40 shows from 1970-1978. Each Saturday morning, we'll take listeners back to a specific week in the 1970's from 6-9 AM as Casey "counts em' down" from #40 all the way to #1! Casey's back at 12 Noon on Sunday with charts from 1980-1988 for American Top 40, "The 80's".
Saturday night, it's the nationwide all-request oldies party, "Super Gold" with Mike Harvey. From 7PM til Midnight each Saturday, Mike takes calls and plays the greatest Rock N' Roll songs from the 60's and 70's!
LESS COMMERCIALS MEANS MORE MUSIC! In researching the target audience for Sunny 104.3 in the Anniston-Oxford area, the two major complaints you voiced to us was that the local contemporary station choices play mostly music you don't care for, and they play entirely TOO MANY COMMERCIALS. In keeping with your desires, Sunny 104.3 will feature an extremely limited commercial load, especially from 9 AM to 5 PM while you work.
PROMOTIONS - Sunny 104.3 will launch with plenty of fanfare to capture and then maintain the new listeners. You can help us spread the word by telling all your friends about us. You'll see television and print ads, plus online and cross promotion on our sister station, Thunder 92-7. A major billboard showing will happen when the 104.3 FM signal upgrade is complete. Initial contesting will feature a 104-Day cash and vacation program. Sunny 104.3 will also focus on a themed-event prior to the end of 2008 as well as sponsoring / developing a community-oriented public service event/drive.
We welcome everyone who finds Sunny 104.3 to be the type of station you would enjoy to just give it a try. Let us know what you think. We look forward to welcoming you as one of the many members of listeners in the Jacobs Broadcast Group, Inc. radio family with our newest radio property, WSYA AM/FM, The New Sunny 104.3.
